Tip #91: Don't use headers in non-load-bearing walls

Although headers are still needed in load-bearing walls, new engineering and framing techniques make it possible to eliminate headers in non-load-bearing walls. Again, the technique does not weaken the structure. You will save money by using this technique in both lumber and materials cost and in labor costs.
