 Instead of completely replacing windows, consider replacing your old window sashes with tilt-in sashes. This change will reduce window condensation, reduce outdoor noise, and achieve energy efficiency. You will also find that tilt-in windows are much easier to clean. This is a great project for the do-it-yourselfer. Just buy the sash kits from your local home improvement store and install them yourself. You'll save the cost of replacing the windows, and reap the benefits.
