You can save a bundle on exterior walls by using wall sheathing with a finished surface. This is used instead of a layer of sheathing that then has to be covered with siding, stucco, or another finish. You will save on materials because you will be purchasing only one exterior wall material (instead of two), and you will save big on labor because you will only be paying for one installation (instead of two). Further, many of these finished exterior wall sheathings have higher quality insulation in the material, and this may result is some savings in energy costs over the years.
