 Choosing a refrigerator/freezer with a through-the-door ice and water dispenser will save money on your electric bill. Consider, if you will, that every time you open the door of the refrigerator or freezer you allow cool air to escape and warm air to enter. To maintain a constant temperature, the motor will start to run each time you open the door. If you don't open the door to get ice or cold water, you will reduce the amount of re-cooling your appliance must do.
